J. Anthony Brown:  My friend, supporter, motivator, and encouragement. Those Wednesday shows at The J Spot Comedy Club was up there along the lines of Carol Burnett.  You never knew what would happen, but we rolled with it.  Thank you, J.

BERNIE MAC

Picture
Bernie Mac is the modern day inspiration for up and coming comedians.  Although he has left us, his legacy goes on.  My strength and boldness comes from his first Def Jam appearance. When he coined the phrase, "I ain't 'fraid of you M----- F------"  And guess what?  I'm not afraid of you, either".  Thank you Bernie Mac.

Chris Tucker

The first time I met Chris was at church.  Yes, he, Cedric Pendleton and I clowned a bit during service.  After service, Chris was on his way out, when he turned around and came back to where I was standing. He wished me good luck in my career.  That's classy.  Thank you, Chris.

Lavell Crawford

I met Lavell in Indianapolis after he did a show.  I told him I was a new comedian.  He wished me luck.  A year later, I saw him again in Indy.  To my surprise he remembered me and asked, "How your career coming along?"   That was awesome.  Thank you, Lavell.

Gary 'G-Thang' Johnson

Picture
I don't know why I liked G-Thang's comedy, but he is funny.  I met him in LA at The J Spot Comedy Club. He was a cool person to meet and eventually work with.  No matter his success, he has stayed the same. He has demostrated the difference between being funny and being a comedian.  Thank you, G.

T. P. Hearn

Picture
I've watched T. P. Hearn on BET ComicView. So when I actually appeared with him at a comedy club in Indianapolis, I was in awe.  Not because he was funny, but he was really cool to talk to as well. Offering great advice to the other young comedians in the room. He encouraged me by saying, "Mike you have the kind of comedy that can be perform anywhere. . . "  Thanks T. P.

Bishop Noel Jones

Bishop Noel Jones: My pastor, spiritual inspiration, dynamic preacher. Thank you Bishop for tearing down the walls of religion to reveal God.

Nolan Jenkins

Picture
Nolan Jenkins and I have been friends for over 15 years. We've depended on each other, confided with one another, and have been there for each other.  Nolan has a heart of gold.  We coached softball together for at least six years.  Nolan is a true friend for life. BTW, Nolan, I'm still working on your Escalade. Tell your wife it's coming.  Thank you, Nolan.

Cedric Pendleton

We met one Sunday at church.  His manager introduced him to me.  We became instant friends and colleagues.  Later, his manager became my manager.  Thank you, Cedric for your continual friendship, advice, and humor.

Mr. Bill Cosby

Picture
Although I have never met Bill Cosby, he has been a major influence on my entire life (who can forget Fat Albert). Thank you, Mr. Cosby for letting comedians know you can be funny and clean.

Richard Pryor

Picture
One man I wish I could have met. Richard Pryor. Many comedians say he's their inspiration, but few saw past his language to see the true essense of his jokes/stories.

George Wallace

Picture
I have yet to meet George Wallace, but I am so looking forward to it.  The first HBO Comedy Special I remember watching was George Wallace. Taped live in Chicago.  Hilarious.  Now he's a major Las Vegas Player.  Why?  Because "he be thinkin'."
