A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF MICHAEL HIGHBAUGH

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael Highbaugh spent the first twenty years of his entertainment career as a radio announcer. He worked for the top rated stations in Indianapolis including WTLC & WZPL.  After receiving many awards and accolades, Michael decided to go independent and entered the stand-up comedy arena. He was an instant hit. Rocking the entire comedy club. It became evident that in comedy, the sky was the limit for Michael.

Michael Highbaugh's comedy career took off so fast, his manager said it was time to go to the next level. So in late 2006, after opening for T. P. Hearn at The Historic Madame C. J. Walker Theater, Michael moved to Los Angeles, California. Within a couple of weeks of arriving in LA, Michael appeared at the Comedy Store. No one knew who he was then, but when he got off the stage, Michael's name was on everyone's lips.  After the show, Michael took a look around and thought, "I am on The Sunset Strip.  Doggone it, I am on my way."

Michael Highbaugh's first big break came when he appeared at J. Anthony Brown's The J Spot Comedy Club in Los Angeles. A big fan of J. Anthony Brown, who Michael listened to on the radio in Indianapolis, Michael expressed to his new manager he wanted to perform at J. Anthony's club.  As fate would have it, J. Anthony Brown called his manager the next day. They talked and J Anthony said bring him out.  J. Anthony Brown put Michael up twice on the same night. Unheard of for new talent. J. Anthony Brown also made sure the Michael went up most of the time he came out to The J Spot.  Later, J. Anthony Brown asked Michael to produce his show, Live at The J Spot with J. Anthony Brown  on Wednesday nights.

Michael Highbaugh's first performance in LA for a crowd over five thousand came December 31, 2008. During Watch Night Service at The City of Refuge, Bishop Noel Jones asked Michael to peform before the congregation. Michael, a great admirer of Noel Jones, was shocked but excited for the opportunity to perform.  Again, Michael knocked it out of the park.  Bishop Jones then asked Michael to come back and perform for the church's Super Bowl Party.

Since that time, Michael Highbaugh has been performing in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and all across the country.  Sharing the stage with some of the Big Ballers in Comedy.

Thank you J. Anthony Brown for giving me a spot and your friendship.
Thank you Bishop Noel Jones (my pastor) for giving me the opportunity to share with The City of Refuge.
